Vintage mulitmedia card

Here is an old school multimedia card from the year 2001 which was a gift given by a friend of mine. These days, multimedia card are being replace with SD card which are way smaller in size and is more compatible will all electronic devices like laptop, smartphones and tablets.

Multimedia card (MMC) have a nominal voltage of 3.3 volts and also have a maximum capacity of 512 GB. MMC was first introduced back in the year 1997 with a memory capacity of 4 MB (If I am not wrong.....) Window 98 computers were the first batch of computers to actually use these MMC as a temporary memory storage. MMC functions like a flash drive but it is mostly use for cameras and micro MMC are later developed to be compatible for handphones later in the late 2000s.

In today's world you can't really store much with 32 MB storage, maybe a few photos ?? Back in 2006, I remember that my Window XP computer have a storage drive of 80 GB and it was reaally huge size back then.

As the years goes by, memory cards will soon have larger and larger memory storage space. Now in 2020, the largest memory storage space for an SD card  is 1 Terabytes (1TB) for an extreme class 10 MicroSD card and it cost 295 Singapore dollars.
