Vintage brass key collection

Recently, I started to become a collector of brass keys. Brass keys have been extinct from today's market as most keys are now made of stainless steel. Some of these brass keys in my collection could have been from the 40s and 50s.

These brass keys are known to oxides easily as it turns from golden brown to dark brown and sometimes black in colour. I decided to do an experiment by polishing them using lime and it works very well.

The difference is really huge and it can remove almost 90% of the black spots. Overall as a conclusion, if you want to clean brass materials, you can do so using lime juice or any citrus fruits.
