Hanging down light

Here is one thing, that you will commonly see in older shop houses or homes. This hanging down light is very eye attracting and sometimes they do come with their down shades. When I was a kid, I always admire at this wonderful beauty of this down lamp. Back then, there was a bulb install in it and the bakelite switch connecting the current to this unit wasn't taken out yet.


The reason why this light holder is brought downwards is to maximize the surrounding lightning and also avoid shinning to the other room next door. Those bulb used previously was those filament 2 leg bulbs which commonly comes in 40 watts and 80 watts. These filament bulbs are very rare to get these days as the fitting is different from the modern E27 light bulb holder. 


If you would like to decorate your house with these old bulb settings, do make sure that you have the correct bulb for the correct fitting. If not, you have to get an adapter for the older bulbs and it can be found online at Lazada.

Konica Autoreflex T2

Konica Autoreflex T2 is not really a popular camera in the past unlike Canon or Nikon. One feature of this camera which I like the most is the solid metal finishing. It makes the camera looks more vintage and older feel.  The front view of the camera This camera also comes with 1.4 57mm Hexanon lens which takes good and clear pictures. Hexanon lens are known for it's quality and sharpness.  Camera like this are less expensive compared to Nikon F2, Nikon FE and Canon A1. The price range for a Konica Autoreflex T2 is about 200 SGD around that pricing.  The Konica lens cap is very flimsy and it can drop off anytime. Vintage USHA fan

This fan was originally bought in 1946 right after world war 2, when my great grandma bought the shop. I believe that time, after the war broke out, many of the shops when through renovations and many of them were rebuilt back again. So that is how I predict the age and the year of this fan. This fan is placed in the living room upstairs of the old shop. Having a ceiling fan like this was really a luxury in the past, as many couldn't afford it. The most common brand ceiling fan in the 40s were GEC fan. USHA is a cheaper version of the GEC fan as it is made in India. The quality of the USHA fan is as good as the quality of the GEC fan. This fan ball bearing have not been changed for about 40 years and it is still in good working condition. The fan can still spin at max speed without making any noise.
