Vintage Aluminium Pot

Image
Aluminium pot like this one shown here are rare. This pot has been used by my grandmother for the past 50 years and she took good care of this pot despite the age.  The brand of the pot is "Three Rings Brand" It is about 3.2 litres to 4 litres capacity pot with a spanning of 22 cm diameter. My grandmother would use this pot for many purpose such as boiling asam laksa, soup and herbal water back in the past when she got the strength to do cooking.  Therefore, this is a sharing only, on how pots looks like in the 60s. Today in 2020, pots are all made from stainless steel material and aluminium pots is never been seen in production ever again.

Vintage 3 tier container

Image
A colourful orange plastic container that look like this is surely from the 80s. This 3 tier container is design to be a successor for the legendary "Tingkat" (A.K.A Enamel Tiffin Carrier). As the tingkat ages, there will be possible rust appearing on the surface and this could be a potential danger to the health of consumers. Plastic is an inert material and therefore it is also less breakable too.  I like those kitchenware from the 70s and the 80s as it comes in many different retro colours. I remember, that my kitchen in the past used to be very colourful, where the kitchen cabinet would be green and there is another blue fan and an orange oven place on top of it.  I am selling this vintage plastic container away for 10 Singapore Dollars.

Vintage Fake Flower Display

Image
Here is also another display item which my aunt bought during her Japan trip in 1971. It consist of a test tube shaped dome made from glass with a fake plant of flowers display inside. It is indeed a very beautiful piece here. The base is made from wood and the fake plant inside is made from plastic

Vintage M Power Radiator Coolant

Image
This is my first time seeing a radiator coolant being shaped in a 3 piece metal can with a ring to open the lid like how you open a normal soda can drink.  It is a rare collectible item as all radiator coolant are placed in plastic containers these days unlike the past. Top of the can From far, it looks like a normal soda drink can. This M power radiator coolant is made in United States of America. It could be marketed in the 80s here in Malaysia and Singapore. Based on a google search, the company is no longer exist and it could have been replace or disappeared long ago.

Dunhill Cigarette Plastic Container

Image
I am not a smoker and I hate to smoke. The reason why I collect this item is because my great grandmother was a heavy smoker in the past. She started smoking at a young age and after that quitting smoking at the age of almost 80 years old when she felt ill for a few day. Back then, my mum and other of the grandchildren would play hide and seek with her cigarette containers and lighters around the house to prevent her from smoking during her transition period of quitting smoking. One a recent discovery, I found a huge bundle of cigarette box and you can check my collection of them here . This one, I bought online at Carousell with a cheap price of 5 Singapore dollars. I like the cute design of this vintage plastic container. This packaging is mostly likely during the 80s to the early 90s. Today's world, cigarette boxes are all in cardboard boxes with images of smoker's lungs and other scary images on the consequences of smoking. Thus, cigarette box like this are rare items t

Rare vintage enamel plate

Image
Here is an extremely beautiful painted enamel plate. The plate looks yellowish to you, but it is actually its original colour. Personally, I like the drawing of the cute little ducking in the picture.  Although there is a presence of a large rim bite at the edge of the plate, this piece is still a good collectible item. I got this from a gift of a friend of mine, who wanted to bless me with the vintage items that I like. At the back of the plate, it shows the company producing the plate and also the date of production. These kind of plates are rare and they value more than those normal painted coloured enamel plates. This plate is dated back to the 3 October 1957 with the trade mark on it

Vintage Dunhill metal can

Image
For vintage cigarette can collectors, you may want to eye on this item for collection. This is because is a rare 1960s Dunhill, 50 sticks cigarette can. The exterior of the can is quite dirty and also the words seem faded too. Some of you think that I smoke. Well, the answer is I don't smoke. I collect these cigarette cans or tin as a remembrance of my great grandmother who was a heavy smoker back then.  There was no labeling telling consumers that smoking cigarette is bad for health at the time. In fact, there were advertisement back in the 50s to the 80s that promoted smoking. In the world we are living in now, cigarette can have been extinct from the shelf as most countries around the globe had implement heavy regulations on cigarette items which will discourage people from smoking.

Vintage foldable chair from the 70s

Image
These chairs belong to my grandfather back then and it was place at my grandmother's old shop back then. I will not forget this chair because I use to climb up this chair and rock my way while sitting on this chair pretending that I am on a rocking chair. My mum without fail will scold me when she saw what I did. She is more worried because this is a foldable chair and she don't want my tiny fingers to be caught when the chair collapse. Overall, this chair here is a very good piece made from normal wood (Not ply wood) coated with a layer of wood painted to give the dark brownish effect. It is one of its kind today and it is really solid and stable. Even the foldable Ikea chair cannot even beat this wonderful vintage foldable chair.

Hanging down light

Image
Here is one thing, that you will commonly see in older shop houses or homes. This hanging down light is very eye attracting and sometimes they do come with their down shades. When I was a kid, I always admire at this wonderful beauty of this down lamp. Back then, there was a bulb install in it and the bakelite switch connecting the current to this unit wasn't taken out yet. The reason why this light holder is brought downwards is to maximize the surrounding lightning and also avoid shinning to the other room next door. Those bulb used previously was those filament 2 leg bulbs which commonly comes in 40 watts and 80 watts. These filament bulbs are very rare to get these days as the fitting is different from the modern E27 light bulb holder.  If you would like to decorate your house with these old bulb settings, do make sure that you have the correct bulb for the correct fitting. If not, you have to get an adapter for the older bulbs and it can be found online at Lazada.

Mobil 1995 Calendar

Image
Here is a mint and a brand new 1995 Mobil Calendar. This calendar bares the new Mobil logo whereas the older horse logo is no longer in used. The old Mobil logo that has the horse sign was last seen printed on 1994 diaries and calendars.  The original plastic wrapping is still attached on the calendar and it hasn't been taken out yet. Vintage Short Stool

Image
My grandma used to have a lot of these small and short stools as she will use it to sit down while washing clothes or plucking the vegetables. These stools are indeed very hardy and heavy. It is made from real solid teak wood tailored by my granduncle in Singapore where he owns a wood factory. Most of the stools in my grandmother's old shop are specially made by him and some older ones are made by my great grandfather. This kind of vintage stool isn't cheap and one stool can easily cost about 30 Singapore dollars. Therefore, if you have them, it is worth keeping them.

Winnie The Pooh CDs and a special message

Image
Here is my collection of old CDs from the famous Winnie the Pooh cartoon series. I was really a crazy fan of Winnie the Pooh back in the past at the age of 5. I even drew and write my personal Winnie the Pooh stories too that time. It was really fascinating watching Winnie the pooh and I could watch hours of the whole entire series in a day. Up to date, If I could remember correctly, I manage to watch through all the Winnie the Pooh shows and movies that were aired or showed during 2008 and before it.  After that, I lost my interest in Winnie the Pooh shows as I began to study harder for my exams. These CDs were bought by my mother at Holiday Plaza when I was a child. Mum, if you are reading this post, I want to say "Thank You" for loving your son very much !!! Many love to you my mum =) <3
