Vintage plastic sockets

Plastic sockets like these are one of its kind as it is made specially to be attached on wood bases. These sockets are commonly found in old wooden shop houses and some older homes built in the 70s and earlier.

These sockets are actually successor to its predecessor, the bakelite sockets. They are made available in white colour which are more clearer to be seen at night unlike those black bakelite switches and sockets. My dad told me a joke that when a mosquito land on those black bakelite sockets and switches, you are unable to see those flying creatures hiding in your house.

These plastic sockets are also much stronger too as it won't break that easy when you dropped it. But over time, yellowish aging spots will start to appear on those plastic sockets and heat will accelerate the yellowish stains to happen at a faster rate. One hack tool which you can use to polish these sockets is using toothpaste to make it white and shinny again.

This socket can support up to 250 voltage and 13 ampere of current.

Inside these sockets, there is a well labelled diagram for you to place the respective colour wires into holes and screw them in order to tighten the wires. Overall it is a good idea to decorate your house using these old sockets but make sure to install them correctly.
