Vintage rice sampling tool

Here is an old school rice sampling tool. It has been kept by my great grandmother for more than 60 years already. According to my mum, she told me that my great grandmother will use this tool to help check whether is there any rice bugs or impurities inside the rice before purchasing them in bulk. My great grandmother used to buy rice in 30 kilograms sacks and store them up as there were many people living under one roof in the past.


There will always be a time where my great grandmother would buy rice in huge amounts without fail and that is during Chinese New Year as hundreds of my relatives will come back fro all over the world and celebrate it together with great grandmother. 


This rice sampling tool is made out of iron and have a measurement of 23 cm in length. According to many vintage collectors, this is a rare tool and it is worth keeping it.

Konica Autoreflex T2

Konica Autoreflex T2 is not really a popular camera in the past unlike Canon or Nikon. One feature of this camera which I like the most is the solid metal finishing. It makes the camera looks more vintage and older feel.  The front view of the camera This camera also comes with 1.4 57mm Hexanon lens which takes good and clear pictures. Hexanon lens are known for it's quality and sharpness.  Camera like this are less expensive compared to Nikon F2, Nikon FE and Canon A1. The price range for a Konica Autoreflex T2 is about 200 SGD around that pricing.  The Konica lens cap is very flimsy and it can drop off anytime. Vintage USHA fan

This fan was originally bought in 1946 right after world war 2, when my great grandma bought the shop. I believe that time, after the war broke out, many of the shops when through renovations and many of them were rebuilt back again. So that is how I predict the age and the year of this fan. This fan is placed in the living room upstairs of the old shop. Having a ceiling fan like this was really a luxury in the past, as many couldn't afford it. The most common brand ceiling fan in the 40s were GEC fan. USHA is a cheaper version of the GEC fan as it is made in India. The quality of the USHA fan is as good as the quality of the GEC fan. This fan ball bearing have not been changed for about 40 years and it is still in good working condition. The fan can still spin at max speed without making any noise.
