Yes !!!, that was very long ago. My red packet collection Why 2008? I will share in my upcoming post. There is a story behind my first red packet collection. But I stop collecting them a few years later, because every single time, I had to wait till Chinese New Year only I could collect them. Last time don't have Carousell unlike now where you can buy Ang Bao to complete your collections. Moreover, I don't spend a single cent from buying red packets, most of them are exchange and some are gifted from my parents or relatives who work at the company. Collection Of Vintage Cigarette Box

Image
In the past, cigarette boxes used to come in different sizes and shapes. The most common ones seen are the rectangular shape box whereas for the metal cylinder shape box, it is quite rare to encounter one of them. Most of my collections are 555 cigarette boxes. In the past, these cigarette boxes are actually sold as a gift set during Chinese new year or special occasions. A few of my collection For your information, I am not a smoker and I hate smoking. These vintage cigarette boxes are actually from my great grandmother's collection. She use those boxes to keep items like coins and other small accessories. Some of the boxes are in good condition and some of them are not in a good condition. To save up space in my collection, I decided to make full use of these boxes by placing my small collectible items inside them. Items placed inside them Although my collections of cigarette boxes are incomplete, I am currently saving money to buy more of these antique boxe

Vintage paper bags

Image
Before plastic bags were commonly used, paper bags are used often instead. The name of the shop or logo of the brand can be found in most of the paper bags. There are also phone numbers of the shop printed on those paper bags One way to find out whether the paper bags are really vintage or not is by looking at the string. Last time, red and white strings/baker's twine are used to for those paper bags. Those string are made up of cotton material. Another way to find out is by looking at the phone number. Back in the old days, land line number used to be 7 digits and now the digit increase to 8 digits.

Vintage matchbox collection

My passed down collection of matches  The matchbox collection shown here is actually from my great grandmother's collection and it is passed down to me. Actually there are more matchboxes, but I didn't include them in this picture. The matchboxes came in different sizes and designs. Most of these matchboxes are estimated to be from the 70s to the 90s. The most common one is the box type and the least common is the paper wrap type. If you would ask me on which matchbox design I like, I would say it is the paper wrap type because it looks very vintage and classic. The paper wraps matchsticks looks authentic and it is usually found in high class places like hotels and airlines. In the modern days, wooden matchboxes are common found, because of it's rigidity and it's capacity to store even more matchsticks. In the past, smaller cupboard matchboxes are common used and it is able to contain about 30 - 40 matchsticks per box. Wooden matchboxes can contain up to 60 - 8
