Here is an old school multimedia card from the year 2001 which was a gift given by a friend of mine. These days, multimedia card are being replace with SD card which are way smaller in size and is more compatible will all electronic devices like laptop, smartphones and tablets. Multimedia card (MMC) have a nominal voltage of 3.3 volts and also have a maximum capacity of 512 GB. MMC was first introduced back in the year 1997 with a memory capacity of 4 MB (If I am not wrong.....) Window 98 computers were the first batch of computers to actually use these MMC as a temporary memory storage. MMC functions like a flash drive but it is mostly use for cameras and micro MMC are later developed to be compatible for handphones later in the late 2000s. In today's world you can't really store much with 32 MB storage, maybe a few photos ?? Back in 2006, I remember that my Window XP computer have a storage drive of 80 GB and it was reaally huge size back then. As the years ...

Spark-L is the model for this vintage Milux brand gas igniter. According to my mum, she had been using this vintage gas igniter for the past 30 years and it is still working well despite being covered in brownish-red rust. Unlike other models, this is a friction operated type with kerosene filling inside. Newer models of gas igniter uses batteries, flints and fuses to light this pistol up. The operation mechanism is super simple, just pull the trigger with a finger and there you go. The length is 26 cm and have a width of 10 cm wide. This gas igniter is used for older cooking stove without the spark lightning mechanism like this one here in the photo above. Soon, this would become a forgettable item as gas stove are becoming rarer as new technology has surpassed this old fashion kind.

The word "kuali" is a Malay term for wok and that word is commonly used in Malaysia and Singapore. Based on my experience, kuali cover are very long lasting household appliances and there are many of them in the market. This vintage one is made from Aluminium material with a little small hole at the bottom of the piece for hot steam to escape. My grandma choose not to change this kuali cover as it has been with her for the past 60 years. I measured that this kuali cover is almost the same size as those sold today at a measurement of 33 cm in diameter. One thing that attracts me the most is the protection handle which is made from bamboo and this really shows that it is a real vintage item. The handle of modern covers is made from hard plastic which can withstand high temperatures. French toast, sounds familiar ?? Is it a food ?? Certianly, yes !!! But this card is not about the frenchtoast that you eat but a name of a language centre here in Singapore. Sorry for the mouth watering thoughts :"(. I bet you feel like craving something when you first saw the image of the colourful toast bread on the front of the card. This card is encouraging people to learn French language at a 50% discount. I got this postcard from a friend who knows I enjoy collecting these postcards in the past.

Vintage Ovaltine items are good starters for beginner vintage collectors. Even back in the past, people do enjoy collecting these Ovaltine items especially when it is given as a free item when you make a purchase of their products. When visiting musuem, I really do enjoy looking at the display of these collectibles from famous beverage brands like Nestle, Ovaltine and Coca Cola and ever dream of owning a collection like this Just a few days ago, a friend of mine decided to give me this old school Ovaltine Jar as he is moving out from his old house. I felt blessed by this kind friend of mine who knew I enjoy keeping vintage items and decided to give away instead. This piece here is extremely beautiful and it is worth displaying it. This milk jar is most likely to be from the early 80s where that brand is still quite popular back then before the famous chocolate malt drink, Milo began to grow and become more famous. This is a light duty toolbox used by my grandfather back in his younger days. When I first opened, I discover a lot of vintage tools like inches screw drivers, spanner and many more old tools. Those tools are very rare to be found these days and it is worth keeping them just in case I will need them in the future for other restoration projects. The toolbox is a very stiff when I open it. At first, I struggle quite a lot in opening the box, but with the help of WD-40, I was able to open it easily. The joints of the box got smoothen along the way. There is also a presence of rust coated on this piece here. For your information, the brand of this toolbox is Wilde, and it is made in USA.

Always wanted to own a record player ?? Now everyone can own one because of this entry level, Denon DP-29F which have good functions and it is available at a good price. I bought mine for 100 Singapore Dollars on the online Carousell platform. When I bought it, I was very excited to see the performance of this modern record player which I have spent most of my time researching about it. This player comes with a hydraulic arm that lifts up and down the tone arm. For modern record players, there isn't any counterweight or weight for balancing the tone arm. This record player is design specially for records with a common thickness. The playable speed of this record player is 33.33 rpm and 45 rpm.
