Here is a postcard done by Hope Church to promote the event Alter Ego in the year 2018. I went for the event organised by my church that time. That event is about of real life stories of people who experience Christ transformation in them.  It was really a good sharing and I wouldn't forget my friend's sharing live during that event. Overall, it was an excellent event and many lives were touched on that day. Talking about this card, the designer of the card even made things more creative too, by allowing the sender to post these cards to their friends too !!!

These baskets doesn't come with a holding handle but they can be stack up easily. The measurement of this basket is 28 cm in diameter and have a depth of 8 cm. Overall, these baskets are really good for decorative purposes and I am selling them on Carousell as I have a number of them. The price for these 2 baskets are 30 Singapore dollars. Do note that this basket is an original vintage one and my grandma have kept it for more than 30 years already.

Here is a rare mail with old stamps attached too. It was first time I ever receive a mail where the stamps are older than me. The first stamp features a concorde plane and it was out in 1979. The middle stamp features Asean Trade Fair in the year 1980 and the last stamp on the right features 25th anniversary of Central Provident Fund Board (CPF in short),  Singapore back in 1980 also. When I first saw this mail, I felt like I travel back in time to the 80s. I am very happy for this Carousell seller who sent my red packets using old stamps. Bravo to you, LimAJ !!!

Eat Drink Shop Healthy Challenge

Image
Regardless of generation, does this seem familiar to some of you out there in Singapore? Well if not, this is actually a coupon to redeem healthy points on the Healthy 365 mobile app. You gather the points and in the end, you can exchange them for food vouchers or public transport top ups. This event is valid for a season which started on June 2018 and ends in December 2018.  When you purchase any food at selected food stalls bearing the healthy choice logo, you are entitled for one ticket that represent one point under the eating category. I just found this left in my stationary box not long ago. If not, I remember correctly, it is not used at all. There is a QR code at the back of the ticket for users to scan and redeem the points. I bet some of us will take more tickets when the person is not looking in order to get more points, and I was one of them too. HEHEHE, now you know something interesting about me.

Vintage dressing cupboard

Image
Ever wonder how does an old vintage cupboard looks like ?? Well I found one perfect example to share with you guys. Here is a rare vintage dressing cupboard from the late 40s or maybe during the early 50s era. This cupboard is specially belongs to my late great grandmother who have owned it for the longest period of time. Made from solid teak wood, this piece here is really a big white elephant in the house. I remember it takes about 3 people to carry this cupboard from upstairs the old shop house into my grandma's home. Another feature about this cupboard is that it has these unique antique made locks installed on it. These locks are commonly found on antique furniture during the early 50s era or before that. Therefore, this piece here makes a good display item for vintage lovers. The drawers for this cupboard are hard to pull out, as the drawer wood is sitting on top of the wood frame of the cupboard. Therefore, there is a lot of friction force when you pull open the drawers.

Here is a collector item as postcard from famous hotel are getting scare. Normally people will buy postcard and share with their friends or family regarding about their trip. On top of that when buying these postcards, we have the tendency to buy their local stamps and post it from the country that we visit itself.  Some creative people would buy the postcards and the stamp together and sent it to themselves just in order to collect both the postcard and the stamps too. The photo in the background shows the view of the hotel at Hong Kong Disneyland. This card is easily dated in the early 2000s and it is still in great mint condition. There are 2 designs here that I have in my collection and the design of the back of the cards are the same for all.

Postcard from schools in Singapore

Image
The first card is from San Yu Adventist School dated back in 2001. It is quite common back in the past for school to give their school theme postcards to students. I bet some boys would use this card as a love message and act like a name card to pass to their crushes they like. Most of school theme postcards are commonly use as love letters in the past. Here is the back image of this card, where it shows the school details and phone number. Here is another card from Nanyang Girls High School back in the year 2008.  I know that the front picture looks a bit scary for some of you, but there is a meaning behind it. The theme for this card is mixed media and the details of the message can be found behind of the card. Another card in my collection is also from Nanyang Junior College and the theme for this card is oil on canvas. This card is very well drawn and I like the design very much. The meaning of the theme used can be found again at the back of the card with clear explanation.

Vintage Spoon

Image
Here are a few pieces of vintage porcelain spoon from the 70s. The design of the spoon are carefully handpainted and the origin of this spoon is from China. These spoons can still be found use at older Chinese restaurants across Malaysia. When washing these spoons, care is needed as you don't want to drop these spoons. Spoon like this are normally served with a bowl of rice together with a pair of chopsticks.  These spoons have seen disappearing in kitchens as people tend to use stainless steel spoons instead of these traditional Chinese porcelain spoons.

This desk is given by an owner of a gold smith shop to my grandfather back in the 70s. This desk which last place at my grandmother's shop was used to be a working desk for heavy tools. The bottom compartment is used to keep heavy tools like hammers, spanners and many more. The surface of the desk is made in a way to withstand the pressure and stress of the hammering work as it is made with a thick layer of teakwood underneath the cardboard to give it a strong surface. This desk is impressive steady and strong despite its age.

Vintage Plastic Spoon

Image
Ever wonder how does disposable plastic spoon looks like in the 90s ?? Well, I had a full set of them here. These spoons come in 4 different colours unlike today's spoon which are only plain white or translucent. Besides that, these vintage spoons are made under A star brand that made other plastic products such as Tupperware, trays and toothbrushes.  The quality of the past plastic spoons are still the same as the current ones. I have not seen coloured plastic disposable spoon for many years because I always do takeaway my food especially during covid situation. It can also be a collectible item for some of you out there, who knows??
